Soldbuchs

  • The Ultimate Heer Soldbuch

    100% fonts

The internal pages are copied from an original, printing is trapped and re-paginated to match perfectly.

    In German!

70% of the reproductions out there say “Berfonalausweis” right on the cover (as well as other internal errors) because the reproducer could neither read Fraktur fonts nor German. We do both; and can guarantee a perfect match to the original.

    Custom cover stock

Our covers are made of a custom laminated heat press card stock that is a near perfect match to a original, compared to several samples. "Kobok" paper was made to emulate the texture of birch bark. Other reproductions use a card stock with a steam press grid, which is off in color and texture.
    See for yourself!

    • Them/Original(top)

They use a steam press card stock, much like our economy version. While I’m sure this makes the ladies at the scrapbook store happy, it’s grid pattern and overall texture is poor. The color is however right on for what a “new’ cover should look like.

    • Us (top)/Original

Really the only difference is the color, as the original has darkened with age, you will be hard pressed to tell. Perfect texture and thickness.
While we can to the cheap-o paper for those on a budget, this is for the serious collector who wants an exact replica.

    • Cloth tape binding

We use real cloth tape to bind our covers, other vendors use an actual piece of adhesive tape. Save that stuff to fix the stereo in the van, our custom tape is placed by hand, and has the correct texture.

    • Staples?

Dispite the use of modern staples, they are bent correctly; yes that's right, bent correctly. You see we use an ORIGINAL ID book stapler-

We will use Zinc, Copper, Steel then Stainless Steel staples in order as available.

  • SS Soldbuchs

Yes, we have them! Like our Heer version, these are done in the slate color cover rather than tan, with a green binding. We can also make these with the alternate tan binding upon request. The pages of the SS soldbuch are 100% correct from an original, and in numerical order (unlike the Heer books that use a 8a-8d numercial sustem for the gear issue pages)

    Soldbuch completion service

Yes, we can do it. No we don’t like to. We have studied hundreds and can nit-pick most other completion services to shreds, but there is always some chucklehead out there who knows better, because he went to a year and a half of community college and saw a special on the history channel. For this reason, we hesitate to do it. If however you do contact us, seem like a team player and won’t nickel dime us on our completion time or what you think is most accurate, we will hook you up.
